BCCA Update: Conservative Party of BC Leadership Election
The Honourable Kerry-Lynne Findlay Elected Leader of the Conservative Party of BC.
On Saturday, May 30, The Honourable Kerry-Lynne Findlay was elected Leader of the Conservative Party of BC following a competitive leadership race. Findlay secured the leadership on the fourth ballot with 51 per cent of the vote. She succeeds MLA Trevor Halford, who has served as Interim Leader since December 2025.
Findlay brings significant political experience to the role, having served in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s cabinet as Minister of National Revenue and Associate Minister of National Defence. Most recently, she served as MP for South Surrey–White Rock and as Chief Opposition Whip under Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre.
As British Columbia’s construction industry continues to face challenges related to housing delivery, infrastructure investment, workforce shortages, procurement, and economic competitiveness, BCCA remains committed to engaging constructively with all parties represented in the Legislature.
We congratulate Ms. Findlay on her election and look forward to continuing our engagement with the Conservative Caucus under her leadership. BCCA will continue advocating for policies that support a strong construction industry, and the delivery of the infrastructure and housing British Columbians rely on.
We also extend our thanks to MLA Halford for his leadership during the transition period and for his engagement with BCCA and industry stakeholders over the past several months.
As always, BCCA’s advocacy remains focused on advancing solutions that strengthen British Columbia’s construction sector.
