Chris Atchison
President
Chris Atchison is the President of the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA), the voice of BC’s construction industry. BCCA is the province’s largest and most inclusive construction organization, representing union and non-union general contractors, trade contractors, and suppliers across industrial, commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential construction.
Chris provides strategic leadership for BCCA’s portfolio of industry-led programs and initiatives, including BidCentral, Construction Month, the Skilled Trades Employment Program (STEP), PermitsCA, Integrating Newcomers (IN), Building Builders, and Builders Code. His work is focused on strengthening the construction ecosystem — promoting high-opportunity careers, supporting innovation and productivity, and protecting the livelihoods of those who build BC’s communities and critical infrastructure.
A strong and engaged partner to government and industry alike, Chris is a solutions-oriented advocate known for applying both a critical and creative lens to complex challenges. He brings a fearless, values-based approach to leadership and decision-making, with a focus on practical outcomes that support long-term industry resilience.
Chris represents BC’s construction sector at all levels of government and serves on key advisory bodies including the Deputy Minister and Industry Infrastructure Forum (DMIIF), the National Advisory Council of Local Construction Associations for the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), the Council of Construction Associations (COCA), and the BCCA Employee Benefits Trust (EBT).
A Canadian sports fan through and through, Chris is a competitive curler and high performance hockey coach.
