BCCA Responds to Federal Budget 2026
The British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) welcomes the direction of Federal Budget 2026 and its recognition that infrastructure investment, major projects, and skilled trades are essential to Canada’s economic future.
For British Columbia, the opportunities are significant. From major resource and energy developments to the housing and community infrastructure that supports our daily lives, construction will play a central role in strengthening our economy and building resilient communities.
We are encouraged by the government’s investment commitments and continued focus on developing Canada’s skilled workforce. However, turning ambition into results requires more than funding announcements. It requires predictable project planning, fair and transparent procurement, reasonable allocation of risk, and sustained investment in the people and businesses responsible for delivering the work.
These are shared responsibilities, and BCCA looks forward to working with governments, project owners, and industry partners to ensure these investments translate into meaningful opportunities and lasting public value.
The federal budget speaks of being Masters of Our Destiny. As an industry, we also recognize that we are Builders of Our Destiny.
Our future will be shaped not simply by what we commit to building, but by how effectively we work together to get it built.
