BCCA-Integrating Newcomers Program Funding Extended through to 2028
The BCCA-IN program, which has been administered through the BCCA since 2015, is a free, nationwide employment coaching service for skilled immigrants looking to transition careers to the construction industry anywhere in Canada.
The BC Construction Association (BCCA) is pleased to announce that the BCCA – Integrating Newcomers (IN), funded by the Government of Canada’s Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), has received an additional three years of funding. This extension commences after the latest funding period, which ended on March 31, 2025, ensuring the program continues through March 31, 2028.
The BCCA-IN program, which has been administered through the BCCA since 2015, is a free, nationwide employment coaching service for skilled immigrants looking to transition careers to the construction industry anywhere in Canada. The new funding agreement expands this eligible service to now include immigrants who have already landed as Permanent Residents in Canada, as well as candidates approved for permanent residency who are still in their home country. There are also new resources in place to provide mentorship services and training supports to eligible participants.
This additional funding reinforces the impact and success of BCCA-IN in delivering essential services to skilled immigrants looking to transition careers to the construction industry in Canada and acknowledges the crucial role immigration plays in contributing to solving Canada’s skilled workforce shortage in construction.
We look forward to the continued success of the program and to seeing more individuals benefit from this opportunity.
