BCCA Statement on U.S. Tariffs Against Canada
We stand in solidarity with our industry, it’s businesses and workers, and all Canadians who will be adversely affected by this reckless trade policy.
The BC Construction Association strongly condemns the unjust tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on Canadian industries. These measures threaten the livelihoods of businesses and workers across British Columbia and the country, undermining the economic partnerships that drive growth and stability in our sector.
We stand in solidarity with our industry, its businesses and workers, and all Canadians who will be adversely affected by this reckless trade policy. This is not how strong trading partners support shared prosperity. Instead, it is an act of economic self-sabotage, driven by a misguided declaration of trade warfare.
BCCA will continue to advocate for fair trade policies that protect BC businesses, support jobs, and ensure a strong and resilient construction industry.
“These reckless tariffs are a direct attack on the hardworking businesses and tradespeople who build our communities. British Columbia’s construction industry thrives on fair trade and strong partnerships, not political posturing. BCCA stands firmly with our industry, our province, and our nation, and we will not back down in defending the jobs, businesses, and livelihoods that these tariffs put at risk.” — Chris Atchison, President, BC Construction Association
