This symposium is aimed at bringing together experts in construction law, dispute resolution, and the construction industry to discuss the latest developments in prompt payment and adjudication, including exploring best practices for its practical implementation.\nThe symposium will kick off with an introduction and welcome message from the moderator, Barrie Marshall, followed by keynote speaker Adrianna Worman, providing a warm welcome on behalf of the overall event chair. The symposium will feature multiple sessions on construction adjudication, including “ARCANA (AB) Formation & Mandate,” “Getting Ready for Adjudication – Lessons Learned: Ontario & International Perspectives,” “Alberta’s Prompt Payment and Construction Lien Act and Regulations” and “ARCANA (AB) Support on Practical Implementation of Adjudication – Procedures, Processes, Forms.”\nThe symposium will also feature updates on the latest federal developments and other provincial initiatives, with closing remarks by Adrianna Worman.\nIn addition to the informative sessions, there will be networking opportunities, including an optional dinner, and a photo opportunity with all speakers, moderators, and volunteers.\nSeveral law firms, namely BLG, Dentons, Miller Thomson, Gowling WLG, McMillan, Goodfellow Schuettlaw, and Fasken, are sponsoring the symposium.
